Everyone knows that Los Angeles Chargers receiver Keenan Allen is Philip Rivers' go-to receiver in big moments – everyone, except the Denver Broncos. Allen made the Broncos pay for the mistake in epic fashion on a game-tying touchdown.
Rivers saw his Pro Bowl receiver sitting at the 19-yard line with no defender within 10 yards of him. So, Rivers lofted it to Allen and the receiver burst towards the goal line before leaping over Denver's safety and helicoptering into the end zone for the game-tying score.
It's one thing to leave Allen open early in the game, but it's a whole different level of baffling to make this coverage mistake in the fourth quarter. Of course, those are the types of mistakes we've seen from the Broncos in close games all year.
